I cannot understand why anyone would not simply want to talk, but I will repeat that I do not want to prejudge developments out of my respect for Holguin\u2019s work and for all those who are trying to help us in this effort.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cLet\u2019s wait to see the results and then we will position ourselves,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nWith this in mind, he said he would not \u201cspeak on behalf of Tatar\u201d and that he will <strong>\u201clet diplomacy work and hope there will be positive results<\/strong>\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cI do not want to position myself because Tatar himself made these statements. I have never believed that we can make progress on the Cyprus problem through public statements,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nHe also made reference to a forthcoming meeting to be held between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying Cyprus \u201calways has a special interest\u201d in such meetings.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Cyprus problem will of course be among the issues discussed, and some message will be conveyed from Mitsotakis\u2019 side,\u201d he said, while acknowledging that<strong> he \u201cdoes not know\u201d what Erdogan\u2019s intentions are on the matter of Cyprus<\/strong>.<br \/>\nTatar had told news website Kibris Postasi on Wednesday night that Holguin had proposed a trilateral meeting and that he had rejected it out of hand.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Holguin on Thursday met with the Cyprus Turkish chamber of industry (KTSO), with its chairman Ali Kamacioglu explaining to her that 33 per cent of his members export products over the Green Line, utilising the Green Line regulation.<br \/>\nThis, he said, shows that Turkish Cypriot industry is working at European Union standards but that the KTSO cannot officially aid in this process as it was founded after 1974.<br \/>\n\u201cDespite the fact that we represent producers, the chamber of commerce (KTTO) acts on this front,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nHe also went on to state his belief that <strong>an agreement to solve the Cyprus problem will be based on facilitating trade<\/strong>, saying \u201cthis is the reason why European countries formed the EU.\u201d<br \/>\nHowever, he said, Turkish Cypriot exporters are being \u201cbullied\u201d by the Republic, with various \u201cproblems with documents constantly arising\u201d. He added that <strong>current conditions \u201cfavour the Greek Cypriots\u201d<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt was also announced on Thursday that Holguin\u2019s next meeting with Tatar will take place on Monday.<br \/>\nAlso on Thursday, the north\u2019s \u2018foreign minister\u2019 Tahsin Ertugruloglu reacted angrily to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov\u2019s assertion that his country was \u201cready to assist\u201d Holguin in her efforts.<br \/>\nSpeaking to newspaper Kibris, he said, \u201cthe international community, including Russia, must <strong>immediately stop imposing outdated and exhausted solution formulae which completely ignore the realities on the island<\/strong>.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThe foreign policies of the Republic of Turkey and the TRNC on the Cyprus problem are very clear.
