AKEL General Secretary, Stefanos Stefanou expressed his disappointment over the alleged unresponsiveness of President Christodoulides to letters sent by the opposition.
\nSpeaking during a working breakfast with journalists organised by AKEL on Monday morning, Stefanou said that he recently sent a letter to President Christodoulides regarding a Ministry of Education\u2019s circular on memorial events marking the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion, which omitted references to the preceding coup against Archbishop Makarios.
\nStefanou stressed that he is still waiting for the President\u2019s response.
\n\u201cI must note with great displeasure that the President does not respond to the letters of the leader of the largest opposition party, the sole opposition in the country,\u201d Stefanou said.
