Cold night and holiday showers, as dust returns on Tuesday
A low pressure system is currently affecting Cyprus, leading to low temperatures and showers, especially on the national holiday of March 25th. Despite this, daytime temperatures will remain in the low over 20s. Saharan dust is expected to return to the atmosphere early next week. This evening, the weather will be clear and cold with light to moderate westerly to northwesterly winds and slight seas. Temperatures tonight will drop to 6°C inland, 8°C in southern and eastern coastal regions, 12°C in the west and north, and 1°C in the mountains, where frost is expected. Isolated showers are forecast for the national holiday, mainly in the western part of the island, with moderate to strong winds. Temperatures will reach 21°C inland and in southern and eastern coastal regions, 20°C in the west and north, and 10°C in the mountains. Isolated showers are expected to continue into the evening. Over the next week, temperatures are anticipated to rise significantly above the seasonal average.
