On the occasion of his Christmas message, the president of Anorthosis, Andreas Santis, talks about the necessity of transferring the shares of the Pullaidis family, the creation of a single board of directors and the return of the football department to the club. At the same time, he announced the program "Cash-goal transfers" which aims to collect money to implement three transfers.
His message:
Friends of Anorthosis,
I am contacting you on Christmas Eve to wish you, on behalf of everyone in Anorthosis, a Happy New Year and may 2024 bring you all that you desire.
On such days the thoughts about our occupied city of Famagusta, which for 50 years now, mutely beckons us to return, become more intense.
In my Christmas message, let me make a brief reference to our beloved team.
From the first day of taking over the management, and in the almost one year of our presence, we promised to leave behind both the past and the introversion.
Taking over, all our actions moved in the direction of the immediate recovery of the team and its attempt to return to the top of Cypriot football.
We had also mentioned that at regular intervals we would inform the world about all issues with honesty and clear words, because Anorthosiatis should know what his favorite team is doing.
On October 2 and on the RIK show "Goal and Spectacle", I made my first public report on the importance of the immediate transfer of the shares from the house of Pullaidis, and on the necessity of an administration in Anorthosis that makes decisions as a single body until find a big investor.
In essence, however, no development has occurred and despite the difficulties, we are moving forward with the implementation of the plan we set from the beginning. Unfortunately, however, the time frames are narrowing to the extent that they limit our action and lead our beloved team to potential dead ends.
It is not the purpose of this report to apportion blame and we refuse to start again a cycle of sterile confrontations.
The issue today is that the path of recovery of Anorthosis in all sectors does not fail with obstacles from within.
Disruption is not caused when a problem is mentioned, but when it is swept under the carpet and lurks. We want to put the knife to the bone and resolve it immediately without delays and excuses.
Ms. Pullaidi financially supported Anorthosis for a decade and we must be grateful to her for that. But today, he no longer wishes to finance the Company of which he is currently the major shareholder, something he repeated in a private meeting we had a few days ago.
In the same meeting, it was explained to him that the only solution is the immediate transfer of his shares.
The existence of a company makes sense only with the presence of an investor who undertakes the management and the financial burden. My administration has never presented itself as the "replacement" of Mrs. Poulaidis who has such a possibility.
The second pillar concerns the "division" of Anorthosis Famagusta into Association management and company management.
Anorthosis is indivisible and the existence of two Councils with different perceptions and ways of thinking, with different financial aid campaigns, and even different products for sale to the world, is a problematic situation. We must correct this distortion immediately. Anorthosis is ONE and this is how it must proceed, present itself, be managed. It must have a plan, a strategy, a philosophy and a way of management.
The issue of solving the field problem cannot be handled separately, on the contrary, it is directly intertwined with the team both in terms of competition and finances. And in this we have a very specific strategy and way of ensuring it.
The solution for the next day and the influx of new financial resources and the orderly operation of the Anorthosis Famagusta building is simple and must be done IMMEDIATELY
- Transfer of the shares of the house of Pullaidis to the Association of Anorthosis Famagusta
- A Board of Directors
- Return of Football to the Club
There is no time to waste, brave decisions are needed immediately. The next day should allow us to seamlessly implement our plan with a unified strategy and philosophy.
With actions and not words let's show that Anorthosis is above all of us and not the ego above Anorthosis!!
