These are the six chosen ones of the EDEK European ballot

The decision of the Political Bureau of EDEK on the elections for the European Parliament

The Politburo of EDEK, in today's meeting, decided to draw up the EDEK ballot for the European Parliament elections.

The EDEK MEP candidates, in alphabetical order, are the following:

Anastasiou Nikos, Mayor of Polemidion, President of the District Committee of EDEK Limassol

Apostolou Andreas, Member of Parliament of Larnaca

Yokka Pantelitsa, Philologist

Kanari Vivian, Journalist

Myrianthous Ilias, Member of Parliament for Paphos

Filippou Nikolas, General Director of PASYKAF

It is noted that the above names confirm a previous report by politis.com.cy, as it is recalled that at a session of the Politburo, on January 18, four criteria were defined that must be met regarding the candidate MEPs. Specifically, the Politburo set as criteria the political ethos that should characterize the candidates, the geographical coverage at the Cypriot level, the participation of at least two women on the ballot, eligibility and the possibility of representing the party in public debates.

The ballot will be validated at the Pan-Cypriot Conference of EDEK that will take place next Sunday, February 11.
