Big victory for AEL in Kosovo

Payabl scored their 4th win in a total of five matches for the Balkan league tonight. EKA AEL, as it won in the home of Peja, Kosovo with 94-84.

AEL, although losing at the beginning with 11-2, then took the lead, which it did not lose until the end of the game, while at halftime it led 55-43.

The difference was consistently over +10 for the Limassol team, led by Makuoi (24 points, 2/4 shots, 11/12 two-pointers, 9 rebounds).

It is noted that the game was interrupted due to technical problems, while the normal electronic scoreboard did not work.

The start was delayed for about 20 minutes, while there was also a 5-minute delay in the start of the 2nd half, while shortly after the start, there was another interruption, which lasted around 15 minutes.

Next Thursday, AEL will play its sixth game in the tournament, as it will again face Pristina in Kosovo.

A strong start for Peja, with the home side taking an early 11-2 lead, but AEL reacting immediately, creating a 10-0 run to go ahead 12-11, in a very interesting start to the match.

All this, at a fast pace and while afterwards the lead kept changing hands, with the score reaching 16-14 for Peja, but again the Blue and Yellows found rhythm with a new run, this time with 12- 3, overtook 26-19 in the 8th and at the end of the 1st period, AEL was ahead 30-22.

Continuing the very good pace that AEL had during the 1st period and at the beginning of the 2nd , they maintained a difference of around +8, at the initial time points.

Although in the game there was a slower pace, compared to the 1st period , however, thanks to the continuous scoring of Deandre Davis, the home team reduced to 35-32, just before 15`, but thanks to the accuracy from the perimeter, AEL increased the lead to +12 (48-36), which happened just before 18`, with the blue and yellow team, having a very good pace in their game, combined with their accuracy in the attack.

At the end of the half, AEL led 55-43.

The score remained unchanged for about the first 3 minutes of the 3rd period, and then the pace slowed down, but AEL managed to gain a +13 lead when they went ahead 60-47.

Shortly after, play was interrupted due to technical issues and resumed after about 15 minutes.

But AEL did not lose its pace and then gained a lead of 14 points, when it led 70-56, just before 18', while at the end of the 3rd period, AEL's lead remained at +14, when it led with 73-59.

Shepherd and Makuoi continued to give solutions to AEL in scoring and this helped them to keep the difference above +10, at the beginning of the 4th period, when the home team tried to press and shortly after 35`, they reduced it to 83-74.

But AEL seemed able to cope with the pressure it received, as it found solutions in the attack and finally reached the victory with 94-84.
