At the packed Büyük Han in occupied Nicosia, people from all the communities of Cyprus welcomed the personal envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Maria Angela Holgin, this morning.
The members of the Büyük Han bicommunal cafe conveyed to Mrs. Holgin the message of hope for the reunification of the island and expressed their firm commitment to the goal of solving the Cyprus problem.
Gift a trowel
The members of the Büyük Han bi-communal cafe gave the personal envoy of the United Nations Secretary General a trowel as a gift, which symbolizes the effort to build the solution of the Cyprus issue.
Büyük Han was attended by several members of the leadership of Volt Cyprus as well as members of the new party.
It is recalled that Büyük Han is the haunt of several Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Maronites and other members of the reunification movement, who have been meeting every Saturday morning for almost 20 years.
