The Audit Service addresses the European Public Prosecutor's Office directly, bypassing the Cyprus Legal Service, for the reception and regasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Vassiliko, a project with a total cost of almost 500 million euros (101 out of 500 is European funding).
This is a case that has taken on scandalous dimensions and for which the Audit Service of the Republic had warned early on with its reports, showing illegalities in the evaluation and awarding of the offer to the Chinese consortium CPP, and raising a question of public interest and its interests. .
