The Court ruled that the Prosecuting Authority had failed to prove the charges of the indictment to the extent required in a criminal trial
The 54-year-old cardiologist in Larnaca, who was accused of falsifying vaccination certificates for two of his patients, who eventually contracted the coronavirus and died, was acquitted and cleared of 12 charges. The Court ruled that the Prosecuting Authority had failed to prove the charges of the indictment to the extent required in a criminal trial.
Specifically, the Court stated that the testimony presented by the Prosecuting Authority failed to prove the main claim of the Prosecuting Authority that the Doctor issued a vaccination certificate to the two persons when in fact he did not vaccinate them.
Based on the above finding, the Court acquitted the Doctor of all the charges he was facing.
The acquitted Doctor expresses his thanks to the Cypriot Justice and expects the immediate reinstatement of his contract with the Health Insurance Organization so that he can offer his services to his patients without interruption.
