This is an unprecedented decision in the annals of the public sector, since such a severe penalty has never been imposed on a permanent public servant.

The occasion was a post by the director on Social Media, through which he indirectly referred to a member of the board. of RIK and how he promoted a specific journalist to serve personal interests. Journalists and RIK staff denounced the director, resulting in the initiation of a disciplinary investigation against him by an investigative officer who had come to a relevant conclusion.

After months of testimony, the board acted as a disciplinary board and re-examined the posting. In the sessions, two members of the board did not participate. of the institution, as it was considered that there was a conflict of interest. Finally, after about 20 sessions, the d.s. of the institution, before leaving and changing its composition, decided to impose the severe penalty, while information indicates that the employee in question was spared his dismissal from the semi-governmental organization, since there were members who voted for his dismissal, however, the penalty was finally imposed on Thursday and it was announced to him today.

It is considered a given that Aristodemou will appeal to the Administrative Court to overturn the decision, since he had denied from the beginning the complaints about sexist and offensive posting and had questioned the penalties and convictions, considering that the essence of his posting, which he sent and to the Auditor General and the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority.
