Christodoulidis for stadium lockout: "I'm not ruling anything out…"

In his statements to the journalists, entering the Municipal Hall of Strovolos for the presentation of the book by George George, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, referred to the possibility of closing the stadiums due to what happened at "Alfamega".

The PtD left open the possibility of a decision to close the stadiums, stressing that it is waiting for the decisions of the executive KOP.

The statements:

"Depending on the decisions that will be made, I do not exclude anything. Neither for the fan links nor for the participation of fans in the stadiums, I do not rule anything out. Decisions that some may not like, but, I repeat, the priority is the safety of the world. So, I'm not ruling anything out."

"Today I spoke again with the President of the KOP and we agreed that tomorrow the Minister of Justice will attend the session of the KOP, in the presence of the Unions, to hear the decisions of the KOP."

"At the same time, the country has to face many other challenges. We have Immigration, we have crime and you know who pays for all of this? The tax-paying citizen. I don't want us to end up with football matches and for every sports fan to have a police officer. If some people want this championship, this championship will not exist. So, I am anxiously waiting to hear decisions and, I repeat, I am not ruling anything out."
