"The Cyprus I don't know" – Bi-communal photojournalistic competition and exhibition

Announcement by ESK and Turkish Cypriot Association of Journalists

A bi-communal journalistic photo competition is jointly announced by the Cyprus Editors' Union and the Turkish Cypriot Journalists' Association. The projects that will be distinguished in the competition will be presented in a photo exhibition that will take place in the dead zone.

The competition and the exhibition are entitled: "The Cyprus I don't know" and according to an announcement by the Board of Directors. of the ESK, will have as their subject the everyday life of ordinary people both in one and the other community. The rationale of the whole event is for Turkish journalists to photograph the everyday life of ordinary Turks and Turkish journalists, respectively, to photograph the everyday lives of ordinary Turks. All Greek and Turkish journalists have the right to participate in the entire event, as long as they want to photograph everyday life on the other side.

The Boards of Directors of the two organizations, ESK and T.S.D. they will set up a special bicommunal committee that will evaluate the submitted projects. All the selected photos will be exhibited in a space that will be chosen later.

All journalists will submit their projects to the relevant organization. The deadline for photo submissions is March 31, 2024. The exhibition of the awarded works is scheduled for early May 2024, shortly after World Press Freedom Day on May 3.
